Divisions

Columbia Fire & Rescue’s most valuable asset is its dedicated personnel. The men and women of the department work tirelessly to uphold the legacy of service established over more than 150 years. Since its founding in 1868, hundreds of courageous firefighters have served Columbia Fire & Rescue with bravery and selfless commitment, protecting the lives and property of the city’s residents and visitors.

Administration Division
The Administrative Division of Columbia Fire & Rescue oversees the department’s strategic planning, personnel management, and community engagement initiatives.

Fire Marshal Division
The Fire Marshal Division is responsible for managing fire codes, conducting fire investigations, and enforcing fire prevention regulations within the City of Columbia.

Fire Suppression Division
Operating from five strategically located fire stations across the City of Columbia, the Fire Suppression Division provides frontline emergency response services for fire incidents, rescues, and medical emergencies.

Training Division
The Training Division develops and delivers high-quality training programs designed to prepare department personnel to effectively serve and protect the community.

Emergency Management
The Emergency Management Division coordinates the city’s preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts for natural and man-made disasters. This division works to enhance community resilience through planning, training, and collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies.
