Beginning August 28, 2024, there will be significant traffic changes and road closures in the area surrounding Columbia Rock Products Road to accommodate ongoing construction efforts. These changes are expected to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow in the area.
The following traffic changes will be implemented:
Nashville Highway Median Closure: The median at Columbia Rock Products Road will be closed for construction. This closure is necessary to facilitate the planned improvements and to ensure the safety of all drivers and construction personnel.
Traffic Restrictions: Columbia Rock Products Road will be limited to right-in, right-out access only at Nashville Highway. Additionally, trucks traveling northbound on Nashville Highway will not be allowed to make left turns onto Columbia Rock Products Road. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternative routes accordingly.
Baker Road Modifications: Baker Road will also be modified to allow right-in, right-out access only at Nashville Highway. Left turns onto Nashville Highway will not be permitted from Baker Road.
Truck Traffic Prohibitions: To minimize congestion and ensure road safety, truck traffic will not be allowed on Archway Drive, Reedy Way, and Kristen Court. Drivers are advised to adhere to these restrictions to avoid penalties and ensure a smooth traffic flow in the affected areas.
This project is expected to take several weeks to complete. The City of Columbia urges all residents and commuters to exercise caution and patience during this period of construction. These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.
